Behind the lens
“I bought my first camera with my hard earned savings at the tender age of ten years, and my first SLR with interchangeable lenses with my army savings. I still have a receipt for R3.48 of the first 24-exposure film I had processed at Spectrum Photo Services, 26 Baker Street in Durban. The fact that we had to send it by post is the reason that I remember this so clearly.”
What I love about photography is the emotions one can capture and the art of painting with light; that is the essence of photography: mood, warmth, punchy contrasts, soft hues and so much more.
